Understanding MSP Billing

The billing model is simple once you understand one key fact: Chinron bills you on your total portfolio, not per client individually.

How your wholesale cost is calculated

Chinron counts all active users across every client you manage and applies your wholesale rate to that total. It doesn't matter how many separate clients they're in β€” the bill is portfolio-wide.

Example

Client A β€” 40 users
Client B β€” 30 users
Client C β€” 80 users
Total billed users150

Chinron bills you for 150 users at your agreed wholesale rate β€” not three separate invoices.

What you charge your clients (RRP)

What you charge each client is entirely up to you. Chinron doesn't set or enforce a retail price β€” that's your margin to determine. You might charge all clients the same per-user rate, or price differently by client size, contract length, or bundled services.

The Billing section of the MSP portal shows your wholesale cost alongside your configured RRP per client, so you can see your margin at a glance.

Active vs inactive users

Only active users count toward your bill. A user is active if they're enabled in the system. If a client offboards someone, deactivate them in Chinron to remove them from your billed count. Deactivating a user removes them from training assignments and phishing campaigns but retains their historical data.

Billing cycle

You're billed monthly in advance based on the active user count at the start of the billing period. If a client adds users mid-cycle, those users are counted in the next cycle.

Where to see your bill

Go to Billing in the MSP portal. You'll see:

  • Total active users across your portfolio this cycle
  • Your wholesale cost for this cycle
  • Per-client breakdown β€” users and your configured RRP for each
  • Your total portfolio revenue vs cost (your gross margin)
  • Invoice history

Current pricing tiers

Chinron's wholesale pricing is tiered β€” the more total users across your portfolio, the lower your per-user rate. Your account manager can provide the current tier schedule, or it's visible in the Billing section of your MSP portal.
